About this Speaker
Shannon Polk is an Assemblies of God minister and graduated with her D.Min from Evangel University/Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. Currently, Shannon serves as the associate pastor at Riverside Tabernacle AG church. She has presented to Society of Pentecostal Scholars and preached at the National Black Fellowship AG Reach Conference.
She graduated from Michigan State University (BA) and Western Michigan University (JD). She is a licensed attorney and she has worked extensively in the philanthropic and nonprofit sector in Michigan. Additionally, she has consulted for the Council of Michigan Foundations and the Bank of America Foundation. Her civic involvement includes participation in several community groups, such as the Junior League of Flint (President-Elect), the Links, Inc, Jack and Jill of America, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Recently, she co-authored a chapter in the anthology Race, Work, and Leadership: New Perspectives on the Black Experience published by Harvard Business Press.
Shannon lives in a suburb of Flint with her husband and daughter.
